About this place
The Tour de l’Avallonnais is a long and demanding road-cycling loop in the Avallon area. Its 105 kilometres include 1,788 metres of climbing, earning the route an official ‘very difficult’ classification. The course explores the hilly countryside of the northern Morvan and passes through the surroundings of Vézelay and Château de Chastellux. Numerous climbs and descents make this a full-day ride for well-trained road cyclists. Set off with sufficient water, food and repair equipment, and plan where you may be able to refill supplies along the way. Use the GPX file for navigation and check the weather, roadworks and possible closures beforehand.
