About this place
This varied road-cycling loop links Avallon with Vézelay before returning to the starting point. It covers 49 kilometres and includes 732 metres of climbing. Quiet roads, longer climbs and fast descents alternate throughout the ride. Vézelay, with its historic hilltop setting, forms a memorable turning point, although reaching it requires a considerable effort. The official difficulty rating is ‘difficult’, making the loop most suitable for experienced road cyclists or e-bike riders with sufficient battery range. Take the GPX file for navigation and check the weather, road conditions and any temporary closures in advance.
