Le Tilleul

A spacious holiday home in the beautiful Morvan! The property is located in a small hamlet with a large garden and no immediate neighbours, so plenty of privacy! We received the keys to the property on 12 August 2025 and have completely renovated the house, so that you can enjoy a wonderful holiday with all the comforts you need. Of course, we have kept the authentic character of the house intact. For example, there are beautiful wooden beam ceilings and a part the exterior wall is beautifully “en pierre”. The house is almost 100 m2 in size and is almost entirely on one level (a few steps to the bedrooms and bathroom).

The front door opens onto the living room with an adjoining semi-open kitchen. The kitchen provides access to the bathroom, separate toilet and two spacious bedrooms (approx. 16 m² and approx. 24 m²). Outside, there is a lovely veranda and a fully enclosed garden of approximately 400 m². Gîte “le Tilleul” has everything you need for a wonderful stay in the Morvan, all year round! Full details below.

The gîte will be rented out from 1 April to 15 November, with a minimum stay of 2 nights in low season and 4 nights in high season. During the other months, rental is only possible on request and for a minimum of 6 nights. For more information, see the rates page.

There is a mandatory final cleaning. Kitchen, bed and bath linen are provided and included in the price of the final cleaning.
The entire house is smoke and vape free. The cottage is suitable for up to 5 people, plus possibly a baby. On request, it is possible to add a cot.
A maximum of 3 dogs are allowed. We do not accept cats. Before making your reservation, please read our terms and conditions for all important information regarding the use of the accommodation and the arrival of dogs.

living room

The living room features a comfortable seating area with a three-seater sofa, an armchair and poof and several small coffee tables. There is also a large dining table with six dining chairs, as well as games and information about the surrounding area. The living room has a wood-burning stove, which you can use when the evenings get a little cooler and you want to relax with a book. The wood-burning stove is the primary source of heat in the house. Wood is therefor included in the rental price. The floors are tiled throughout the house, which is nice and cool in the summer. In spring and autumn, make sure you have thick socks or slippers.

kitchen

The kitchen is directly connected to the living room, and a large opening in the wall allows you to stay in touch with the people in the living room while you are in the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped with a three-burner induction hob with extractor hood, oven and fridge with freezer compartment. The most essential items such as coffee, tea, oil, vinegar and herbs are provided. In addition to the usual pots and pans, there are oven dishes, a toaster, a citrus press, a (hand) mixer, a salad spinner, a grill pan, a steamer insert, etc. There is, of course, a kettle, a Nespresso machine and a filter coffee machine (filter coffee and filters are provided). The kitchen has a small table with a few chairs, for example if you would like to have breakfast in the kitchen.
As everything is connected to a so-called fosse-tout-eau, you cannot just use any type of cleaning products. That is why we have the right products available. We also ask you to put fat (from pans) in the bin.
Kitchen towels, tea towels and cloths are also provided. There is also a washing machine in the kitchen.

first bedroom

You reach the bedrooms through a small hallway behind the kitchen. Thanks to the thick walls and the fact that the bedroom is on the ground floor, it stays nice and cool in summer. It has a double bed (160×200 cm) with a twin duvet (240x200cm) and two pillows. Of course, the bed is made up so that your holiday can start right away! Next to the bed are bedside tables with lamps and an extra power socket. There are two shelves and a clothes rack available to store your clothes. Extra blankets and pillows are in the hallway cupboard. Here you will also find the vacuum cleaner (if you want to use it) and other cleaning supplies. On request it is possible to add a cot in this room.

second bedroom

The other door in the hallway leads to the second bedroom. Here you will find two single beds (90×200 cm), which can be joined together to form a spacious double bed (with mattress topper), to be specified when making your reservation. This bed has single duvets. There is also an third single bed in this room. All beds have bedside tables with lamps and an extra power socket. There are shelves and a clothes rack available for storing your clothes.

Bathroom

The bathroom is accessible through the kitchen with a small step. It has a spacious walk-in shower and washbasin. Large and small towels are provided for you, shower gel and shampoo are available, and there is a hairdryer. There is a small cabinet available for your toiletries, and hooks for hanging towels and/or clothing. The bathroom has electric heating.

toilet

There is a separate toilet next to the bathroom. As everything is connected to a so-called fosse-tout-eau, you cannot just use any type of toilet paper. That is why there is plenty of toilet paper available (in the hallway cupboard).

wifi

Welcome to the French countryside. You can use your mobile phone here, but there is no 5G coverage at this time, just 4G. Of course, there is Wi-Fi available in the cottage, on the veranda and in the garden.

veranda and garden

The back door leads to the covered veranda and wooden terrace, where you can sit and relax. The garden is accessible via a few steps and is mainly covered with grass. The trees in the garden provide plenty of shade in the summer. There is a dining set available in the garden and some fauteuils.

dogs

Your dog is also welcome at “gîte le Tilleul”. We accept a maximum of 3 dogs in this gîte. We ask for a contribution per stay for dogs (see the rate page). Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms or on the sofa and chairs in the house. The garden is fenced with wire mesh, two walls and a metal gate. The minimum fence height is approximately 100 cm. The dog is allowed to roam freely in the garden, but it’s not a place to let them out so they can do their business. We therefor expect our guests to walk their dogs on the street so that they can do their business there. In almost all areas where we walk our two dogs, dogs are allowed to run without a leash. However, there is a lot of wildlife, so only do this if you have your dog under control. Dogs are often welcome in restaurants and cafés, always check this in advance. In the information provided after booking, we have listed many restaurants which accept dogs. Last but not least: make sure your dog has the correct vaccinations if you are coming to France from abroad (rabies).

charging your car

If you’re arriving in an electric car, we offer the option to charge it on-site during off-peak hours (from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m.). We have a Type 2 charger that can charge your car at a maximum rate of 4.6 kW per hour (230V-20A). The charger starts automatically as soon as off-peak hours begin and stops on its own. We record the number of kWh and deduct this from the deposit you’ve already paid at the end of your stay. See our rates page for pricing.
