Château d’Époisses stands in the centre of the village famous for the cheese bearing the same name. Its enclosed gardens and courtyard provide a pleasant, quiet stop and are generally accessible for more of the year than the interior. Indoor visits are usually limited to the summer months. The exterior, dovecote, defensive features and gardens already reveal much of the historic complex. Combine the visit with a walk through Époisses or a local cheese producer.
