About this place
In the heart of Burgundy, in the Morvan forest, at an altitude of 800 metres, lies Bibracte.
The town of Bibracte, which was abandoned two thousand years ago, has now been brought back to life thanks to archaeologists from across Europe, who carry out seasonal excavations in its neighbourhoods and dwellings.
The archaeological site is free to visit; an admission fee applies for entry to the museum. During the holiday periods, guided tours in French are available.
